IRON INVASION : Iron Invasion. Gear head mania. This is one exciting event with close to 700 traditional hot rods, custom cars, and 125 distinctive cars in the friends section. Live Rockability and Western Swing played through the day as well as a pinup fashion show and dance routines. This photographer is not familiar with car shows in general but these people have a unique talent that makes attending this event exciting. Lots of friendly people make this a great family event. The next Iron Invasion will be held October 11 – 12 2013, at the McHenry County Fairgrounds in Woodstock, Illinois. Click on picture for a larger image . Copper Box : Road trip to Sheboygan, Wisconsin found us at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center for Festive Fridays listening to Wisconsin’s favorite band Copper Box. They describe the band on their Facebook page as “Roots Rock/Americana band that enjoys fishing in the summer and shoveling snow in the winter, and sounds like Los Lobos on vacation in New Orleans....” We happen to agree big time. The band Copper Box consists of Michelle Jerabek playing saxes, guitar, flute, washboards and vocals; Danny Jerabek on button box (accordion), keys, cornet, vocals; Kevin Junemann playing base, ukulele; and Jason Van Ryzin on drums and triangle.
